corner broken off of little yellow thing...

while installing a matrix infinity modchip in a v7 playstation, i think i broke a tiny bit of the corner off of the thing next to the thing where you attach the sx to. I guess noone could follow that.
ok, if you look here, then below the point where scex is attached is a little yellow thing. i broke a tiny bit off of that.... is that a big problem? i dont know what it does, or if it will cause any harm if i test my ps2 now... what do you guys think?

Capacitor

You broke a piece of a capacitor...
it really depends on how and how much you broke... if it's just a small piece of the cover then you're most likely fine but if it's more than that or if it's disconnected on one of its ends then it's kinda bad news.
It's not fatal though as it's not at all impossible to find replacement smd capacitors but you would have to ask people to tell you which capacitor it is and soldering it back could also be a bit tricky if you don't know what you are doing.

i see... i asume that the cover is on the outside, so the yellow stuf is the cover. in that case, i only broke some cover off, because all i can see underneath is more yellow stuff. or is the stuff that's actually doing the job yellow too?
as far as i can see, its still connected, so that shouldnt be a problem.
thanks for the reply

Its just a filter cap, I believe you can leave it off and still be ok.
