The Dave Mirra trick is too convoluted for me to help you other than to say it's time to get the Messia - the best chip for the v5.

Yeah I had that problem on a mates older ps2 with neo 2.2,,
while booting into the AR2 hold "start", "select", "L1","L2","R1","R2" all the way into the main AR2 screen. this will flash the AR2 dongle from the cd, this makes it factory standard again..... hope this helps elkay |

My version is v2.10

well that would stop u from doing the error codes trick..maby datel see this as a fix???
I suggest putting a whole heap of extra codes into your "Dave mirra 2 codes" on your AR 2 in other words try and make it error .. or u could try re-flashing your cartridge from a 2.0.2 disk (all top buttons + start & select, on boot) that would certainly put the right number of codes on the cartridge, but then booting it with 2.0.3 again may not work hope this helps elkay |

its not the dongle
its the boot cd that is different It no longer gives an error....... I tried putting in another load of codes it says error then freezes the ps2..until reset looks like no way round it v2.11 also does not work!!! |

looks like datel have really cut their own legs off with that update..
So whats the sollution for brand new ps2 buyers??? I have been into this for a while now but friends of mine are getting new consoles soon now that we though the chipping and booting had been worked out... looks like they call it the messiah for a reason.. the shops in sydney have got stacks of old stock of the AR2 2.0.2.. I suggest you try the retail stores where u live for older stock????? the internet sites are the cheapest sure but that means they sell the most and have the freshest stock levels... I'm stumped Elkay |

Get a new Mod chip Neo 4 or Messiah. I would advice to get the Messiah. cos boots everything direct.

Hey guys,i got my AR2 v2 about 6 weeks ago.I dunno what version it is exactly(only that its v2.xx).Im gonna be getting an Origa fitted any day now.My question is do the new AR2's still boot cdr backups, and if so will i be able to boot dvdr's on my origa?.seeing as its only 1 swap with the AR2 and you dont need another dvd originil game to swap(like the all the other swap mods)it should work right?.
Im pretty sure my AR2 is v2.02 or older seeing as i got it 6 weeks ago from a store that hardly anybody shops in(so it could have been there a while).Im just a little paranoid. |

most chips use the double swap for
booting dvdrs, AR2 v2.03, v2.1, v2.11 will not allow you to do this as far as i know only the messiah will boot DVDr without the double swap! don't know what version AR2 CD you have?? turn CD upside down look at writing around the centre on the blus shiny ring Version number is written there. Good luck! |
