which one do i have to choose?

I have DVD RW Lite-On 1653S. After 6 months of using it, it can't read any DVD-R even the ones that are burned with it! It sometimes fails to burn data which contains more than 4 GB. So I'm looking for a new one. I've got 3 nominations, but i'm confused in deciding which one that has the best performance and reliability. Those are:

1. Pioneer DVR-A09XL
2. LG GSA-4163B
3. ASUS 1608P

Anyone has experiences with those 3? which one do i have to choose? thanks!

The pioneer probably is the best drive for the money. I have owned earlier models of both the Pioneer and the LG. Both are excellent.

Thanks Warlock

I ever had Pioneer CD-Rom and it's good in reliability. ASUS? I have it's CD RW for 3 years and still good. I never have any LG's optical drive before, but i think it's the right time to try it.

Yeah the pioneer burners are by far the best that I've dealed with. Try going with the 108d, its a good one.

@Tarzan
Ok, I too will give Pioneer a vote. But in saying that I have never owned a ASUS or an Lite-On! But I have always owned Pioneers and have never had any problems with them. I currently have the Pioneer 107.

The LG is £10 cheaper than the Pioneer 109 in my shop.

And it also supports DVD-RAM discs which is a bonus

But the Pioneer has greater media compatibility.

I was actually google'ing some reseach a few days ago. I don't know how much the drv-109(bk) is in your shop, but you can get it online for about 50 bucks plus shipping
burner
This is the one I have been thinking about buying myself.

Thanks Grumpy, muJi.fiGHt3r, DABhand, & Quall999

I have bought Pioneer DVR-A09XL for $83 (after looking at their website, this is the latest type) Although Pioneer is the most expensive, I'm happy with it's performance. Hope it's good in reliability too
