Pioneer DVR-108 Dual Layer?

CD/DVD hardware is not my area, so I'll be asking all you who have more expereince with this. I'm looking to buy a DVD writer for backing up movies, XBOX games, and data. I was looking at the Pioneer DVR-108 Dual Layer as maybe a possible choice. Would this product have the capablity to do what I want? Any information on this would be helpful, as I don't really know a whole lot on the subject. I figured you techies in here could give me a rundown on whether or not this would do the job.
