I am a newbie, please help...some questions about using boot disc and self boot games

Hi, I want to know that do I need to modify my Dreamcast in order to use boot disc and self-booting games? And one more question, the .cdi images do not seem to work with Discjuggler...why people keep saying to burn them with that prog? When I load a .cdi image, the "start" button of Discjuggler is still gray (disable), can someone please tell me why? My cdr is in the burner...email me if you can, a reply here is fine also, thanks a million!

DiskJuggler will only ungray if it is ready to burn a disk and all conditions have been met.
Reasons for it not ungraying could be simple like no blank disk is in the recorder, or could be that your writer is unrecognised.

As to your DC, it will require no mod chips or anything to be able to play backup selfbooting games and bootdisks for non booting games.

More information regarding your writer, and the version of Juggler would have been helpfull, but if your version of juggler is older than your writer then a newer version of juggler might cure that problem.
