Can you use BBrip with a pcmia network card

I bought a Broadband Adapter for my DC hoping to backup my games so i took a look at the tutorial on go.to/selfboot for using bbrip to rip games so i do what it says up to the part were it says to puse connect on bbrip to connect the Pc and DC.The problem i have is when i push connect nothing hapens then 2 minutes later it says failed to connect.What do i do?Has anyone else with a laptop had this problem?
