Cable backups

I've been considering buying a cable from the US (I'm in Scotland), for making backups of my original games. They are calling the cable a Coder cable (Serial - DC). Has anyone actually backed up games using one of these things, and does it work alright?

Cheers,

p.s. Why doesn't DCCopyWorld have any info on the cable used to backup DC games if these cables are indeed being sold here and there?

The DC Broadband Adapter (LAN Adapter)helps you to connect your Dreamcast to any device equipped with an Ethernet port (10/100MBit), such as Cable Modems, ADSL modems, Local Area Networks at your home or office. Original Sega, japanese 100MBit version.

Nice. Christ though, broadband adapter is still unheard of in this country. UK is always the last to be technologically advanced in the world I'll bet. Still, I may give the cable copying a go to see if it works.

Anyone got a definitive guide to backing up the games using a cable? Or know where to find one?

its shorter cuz everyone who made the neo-geo ones had to shorten them to make em work right. the lik-sang works perfectly, although you have to put your dreamcast on top of your computer cuz of its short length

Well, I DID order it fro DCWarez actually (jandaman), so it's settled. I'll give it a go and perhaps post results when I'm done!

Thanks for the info(s) though.

Cheers,
JT
