Battlefield 2142

I have a question, I'm not sure where this would go but i was wondering if anyone knew how to make it so your computers by editing some file ( I know you can do it with quake 4) to make it so battlefield 2142 can not detect the internet so i can use offline accounts. now i know you can do this, and i have the DVD's and a legal cd key's i just don't want to have to make individual accounts and log in online on all of the pc's i play on i just want to make it so i can use a offline account and play in my lan, like you can do with the SP cracks for this game, without having the cracks. if anyone knows what i speak of and knows how to do this, please reply, and move my post if this isn't the right place to post this. thanks.

Find out the name of the server the game connects to. Edit the SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\hosts file in your Windows directory and add a line like this:

127.0.0.1 battlefield2142.com

(where "battlefield2142.com" is just an example name for the server). There can be any number of spaces and/or Tabs between the IP address and the server name. From that moment, the PC onto which you installed this "redirection" will try to send requests to itself when any software wants to access that particular server/site; requests will time out because noone replies to them. I'm not sure if this is what you wanted, though...

yea thats the sorta thing i want, so the game thinks that the server is down, and i can play offline, do you know how to find out what the name of the server is that the game connects to? or is the thing you posted it, or just a example of a guess?

As I wrote, it was just an example. I don't have this game, therefore I have no idea. You can try to search for ".com", "bf2142" and other strings in the main executable of the game (BF2142.EXE or something similar).
