Ripping audio from PSX games?

Does anyone know how to rip audio from PS1 games?
I've found a bunch of uitilities that can rip video, and a player that can play .XM/str audio, but no utilities to actually get the files from the game disk.

The only files on the games I'm trying to rip are *XA, * STR, and *.bin. I'm guessing the audio files are in the bin file, but It's in some format wirar doesn't recognize.

Anyone know how to do this?

Get player (almost like winamp) from my site: http://members.lycos.co.uk/dreamplay...d/psmplr04.rar - right click and save as.. there is an option to search all media files on cd and save them in pc format (bmp, wav, avi).

If you have SB live or simular Creative software, you could also use an emulator on your pc for the game, and just record what you hear while the game is playing. I have used this technique a few times with no probs. Just open the recorder and set it to record what you hear through your speakers. Then you can edit it or change it up a bit using Cakewalk Home Studio or something simular.

I actualy have one of those Audigy sound cards, but when I record that way, I get background noise, kind of like how an old cassette tape sounds but not quite as bad.

Anyway, the PSX player works great. The preview is all garbled, but when I export to .wav it plays fine.
Thanks a lot.
As long as I'm here, is there a similar app that will work for PS2 games?
