What kind of chip are you using?
Were you trying to run your game from a Hard Drive or backup disc? Do original games work with your ModChip disabled? (if possible).. Could heat be an issue? Not really sure on that problem but some extra info may help. |

Well Widowmaker.. the solid red led is listed as "System overheated, hardware failure!" in a reference manual.
That sounds reasonable if you can play for 10 minutes before your system croaks and the waiting brings it back to life. Is there any service error code when you try to run your originals through your stock MS Dash? Have you moved your xbox to a less ventalated area maybe? Is your xbox fan still working (put your hand near the rear of the box and see if you can feel any exhaust). - that is if you can get it running temporarily again.. Right now I can't come up with many ideas myself.. I'm sure one of the other members have dealt with this before and would have a better suggestion. Sorry, but good luck. |

Also, do you smell that power surge smell? Something like burning elecrtonics?
I suggest you boot to evox in that 10 minutes that would work. Watch the heating and see what it gets to before it turns off. Make sure the fan in the back is spinning.

cheers mate had another look inside the bloke who put the chip must had lost one of the rubber feet inside cos it was jammed up against the fan and stopping it and causing it to overheat, but now all i get when i turn it in is a flashing red/green light may have damaged it by overheating any more ideas

Hey widow.. Flashing red and green (FRAG) refers to an install problem.. As in the chip had a bad install.. (Bad solder points, bad contact somewhere)..
Since it obviously was working before, do you think you may have bumped the chip or tugged on any wires accidently. It may have happened when you were pulling out the dvdrom drive without you knowing it.. If the chip was installed using the pin header method sometimes you get bad contact if all the pins aren't touching the inside of the mod chip.. not too easy for me to explain.. but if you put light pressure on the mod chip in one direction or the other to where its snug, it might help. Thats the problem I had with mine. Don't give up hope yet, you may still be alright. My exlpanatory skills aren't up to par today, not feeling too well. |

Is the screen still black, or does it frag to a multi language error screen?
