Making a dvd of home movies...

Hey guys ive been browsing through the forums but havent really found an answer to this question...what im trying to do is take my home movies (which are in mpeg format) and put them on a dvd which you could just pop in a dvd player and it would work. I read something about a program called TMG edit or something like that (i may be way off here) which will allow you to create a menu scheme which is definately something i want...

Also can you also add pictures to your dvd? Like make a slideshow type of presentation along with the movies? The reason is that ive been stationed in korea for one year now and im PCS'ing back to the states and would like to make a collage of sorts of all the pictures and movies ive taken here and burn it to a dvd for the family...

THanks a lot for any help you can provide

Also whats the best way to burn music videos in mpeg format to a dvd that will play in a standalone dvd player? Is it the same principle that applies to my above question?

Youll need a couple of programs. TMPEG DVD Author and more than likely TMPEG Encoder if your mpeg isnt quite up to spec for dvd purposes.

First try loading your mpeg into TMPEG DVD Author. If it accepts it then continue to create menu's and chapters to your liking.

If it says your mpeg isnt compatible then youll have to load your mpeg into TMPEG Encoder so you can reencode it to fit DVD standards. Then you can load your new MPEG into DVD Author.

You can choose other programs but these 2 are very easy for novices. I suggest trying them out first.

Tyler!

ulaed dvd movie factory 3 is better than nero vision express 2 with ulead you can fit more than twice the video on a disc (with better quality than nero) and it crashes less and is more user friendly
