Question Hitman 2 backup help

Hello. I am trying to back up my copy of Hitman 2. I use the Swap Magic DVD Ver 2.0 to play my backups. When I insert my backup of Hitman 2 the same way as I do with my other backups, nothing happens, the screen just goes dark. Is there something I can do when backing up this game to make it work?

Also, what do I have to do to get my EA games to back up correctly?

Thanks to anyone who will help.

Man... Upgrade to a new PS2 and a Magic V

What kind of media are you using? If all your other games are working okay, you may have also have a bad, or too scratched up Hitman game.

As for the EA games. I can't help. I don't know too much about Swap stuff. All I can say is that I've not had a problem backing up Hitman 2, or several of my EA games including NASCAR 2004, Madden 2004, and NBA Live.

I am having the exact same problem. Using Swap Magic 2.0, thanks for the great advice about getting a mod chip instead, but unless one of you want to come over and solder a chip in for free, I'll keep using my swap magic. The Swaps are great for LAN games where not everyone needs to have a modchip... Anyway, I just wanted to post that I have the same black screen problem, so I don't think it is related to any scratches that he may have on the DVD.

From what I've been researching (just started today), I can use the CD loader for these games?!

Dude, not having a go or anything, but have you ever thought that a no solder chip costs less than the SM ghetto crap, and to get it installed wouldn't add too much on top either. I think the extra cash would be well worth the lack of hassle on it's own...

Come on people, catch up. These no mod chips are the best thing to happen to the PS2.

Once fitted you never need bother having boot disks to hand, all you have to do is reset your PS2 to turn it on and the game/film loads as normal. No effort at all.

As for the EA games problem you're having, that's another problem with your chips. Using those you have problems with EA boots, and yes you can download a patch for most of them, but that's even more hassle.

Still, if you don't want advice, you keep your book disk to hand and a knife maybe for the tray trick.

p.s Something else, if you don't believe the "no mod chip" defenders, just see how many posts we've all had in this forum, except for hunterevan we've all posted over 100 posts and we wouldn't still be here if we were talking rubbish? Still it's your time and your hassle, only trying to help.

Boy, to think that I just wanted to know why my backup Hitman 2 didn't load up. I wasn't trying to get a war going. I have since switched to Ritek G04s that I ordered form meritline and have had no problems since then, including EA games...they all work fine. I have no mod chip.

I had the same problem around 100 posts ago. I found this site and asked a similar question and got the same reaction, it's nothing personal, it's like a rite of passage.

I've had my chip in mine for so long now, I can't even remember what it is. (not very useful I know, but it does mean I haven't had any problems in about 2 years since getting it). I think it's a Magic 3, which as you may have noticed is now on issue 7, I think). From memory (I haven't visted this forum for some time), but previously there were two chips dominating the market, one was the Magic, I can't remember the other one. I think there were arguements for both, but both required some careful soldering.

Hopefully someone can tell you what's the best around nowadays, as for installation, save the cash, it's well worth it, it used to be a very tricky procedure. To find someone who can do it , just ask in the forum for recommendations and shop around.
