Can you be a little more brief?
Ok sarcasm ending here: Do you have a modchip? If so did you boot the disc with modchip turned off? Tyler!

Tyler you kill me
But seriously.... I did the same thing last night. I installed my very first network adapter (about time isn’t it) and when I put in the install disk I disabled my messiah 2 and I go an RSOD screen. I was like WTF!! So then I re-booted the install disk with the chip left on and it worked fine. Until I went to play one of the online demo games that comes with the install disk (my street) and it said I couldn’t connect... no DNAS error just couldn’t connect. So after that I was like ... hmmm so I tried to boot my original of Gran Turismo 3 with the chip turned off and I also got the RSOD screen then I tried it with the chip on it was fine. I don’t get it why am I getting a RSOD screen with an original with the chip off. Any way then I tried to go online with my back-up of the non-demo of mystreet with the chip on and it worked just fine I got online, connected and even started my own game, although there wasn’t a single freeken person there to play with me. So what the heak if up with the chip off and RSOD with originals I have never seen this and quite honestly never even tested it with my machine ever as I haven’t needed a reason to until now. Any ideas anyone!

PS2 Network Adaptor
Ok, Yesterday i burnt my ORGINAL PS2 network adaptor startup CD, and Volla it worked on my PS2 FINALLY! but now there's this new problem, i cant connect to the internet thru my PS2, why? becaz i keep gettin this DNAS Error...i checked on the internet for this and i got :
USE OF THIRD-PARTY DEVICES : DEVICES SUCH AS GAMESHARK, CODEBREAKER, ACTIONREPLAY, AND EVEN MOBCHIPS CAN CAUSE YOU TO GET DNAS ERRORS. THESE DEVICES ARE SOLELY MADE FOR CHEATING, WHICH IS AGAINST THE TERMS OF USE FOR ALL ONLINE GAMES. DNAS CHECKS YOUR SYSTEM TO MAKE SURE NONE OF THESE DEVICES ARE CONNECTED. DISCONNECT ANY SUCH DEVICES AND TRY TO CONNECT AGAIN. guyz, after readin this..i've lost all my hope of ever gettin online with my ps2. |

Hmmm, I wonder if this just started because my old Network Adapter couldnt possibly have had DNAS on it. I had a Neo2.6 back when I first installed it.

I'm confused, do you guys mean that those online demo games in startup disk have DNAS protection OR the network setup wizard has DNAS protection and you can't test your connection with copy of startup disk ?

Ok I think I just misread Speds original post. I thought he meant the startup disc.
