HELP: Need guide for making DVD backups of PS2 games

Hey guys,

I just got a PS2 AND a DVD burner for xmas Lucky me!!!

I'm considering getting a DMS3??? modchip for my PS2, so I can watch different region DVDs as well as play backups.

But I've been looking around on the net and can't find a straightforward walkthrough or guide to making DVD-R (or +R or +-RW) backups of my PS2 DVD games, for use on a modded PS2.

Is it going to be simple??? ie just backup and burn onto a DVD-R and the DMS3 will let me play it??? Do I need to use a "kit" if I'm doing it to DVD-R rather than CDR???

Can someone please point me in the right direction to an easy step-by-step guide for doing this???

Thanks heaps for your help,
Cheers

Ok, I'm gonna be REALLY clear here.

1. Insert original in DVD-ROM.
2. Insert blank in burner.
3. Hit "copy" on ANY DAMN PROGRAM.

Thanks guys, the info in the ultimate sticky was exactly what I'd been looking for!!! Can't believe stupid me missed it.

Anyway - I have another question, you know how many commercial DVDs that come out now have greater than 4.7gb of data on them, so you have to use DVD Shrink or a similar program to back them up to your 4.7gb DVD-R...

...well, does this problem occur for any PS2 games??? Are any of them made larger than 4.7gb and need to be shrunk??? If so - what program do you use/how do you do it???

Thanks again,
Cheers,
Mark

Xenosaga and Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance are dvd9, which require a rip kit to split it onto 2 dvds. You can download a guide at www.alucard.cc
