SafeDisk V2.9 ISO Question

Hi all,

Using latest Alcohol120% version and my CDRW I can create a .mds image and mount it no problem, game runs fine without CD in. I can also make an ISO image to HardDrive file no problem.
I used FireBurner to burn the ISO image, created in Alcohol120%, to CD.
When I boot the backup CD it asks if I want to install the game, exit, etc. It does not ask if I want to play it, as it is installed on the Hard Drive from the original, which has been updated-patched twice now. I obviously do not want to install it again, I want to use it instead of my original.
Also, if I try to start the game, from the desktop icon created on the original install, with the backup CD it loads to a splashscreen then drops to the desktop after a bit. I am confused as to why it seems to have backed up ok, ie: wants to install, but will not work to pass CD check.
I am clearly a newb at all this and would appreciate any advice.
Thanks Seato.

TippeX is on a distinguished road
iso image you'll need to have the crack for, which is the reason the copy protection failed.. the iso image wont have the subchannel data etc.. required for the protection check, try burning the mds image with alcohol, that might work

Thanks for the help TippeX.
I had tried the .mds first but the backup would not read, at all, in the CDRW. I use the .mds for emulation so I don't need the disk in even when patched to latest.
So I went to ISO image, and got at least this far.
I will try a better quality CD-R and try that .mds once more and see if that does it.
(By the way it is civ-conquests).
Seato.
