Suikoden 1 and 2 on Connectix VGS w/VGS Video Patch

Anyone who has tried playing Suikoden 1 or 2 on Connectix VGS has probably realized that saved games will not load upon resetting and you cannot save twice to the same memory card, as a "Unable to Load File" message appears. Obviously, that's something that would render a RPG unplayable unless you leave it on for weeks.

I'm wondering anybody knows of any techniques/patches that resolve this issue with Suikoden and Connectix VGS. Most likely, there's been a demand to play this and something has been done. I just can't find it.
