As far i can tell, the culprit was the game patch itself, the patch override the .exe file to include a cd-check protection thus making any backup cd unusable. the original .exe file did not have any cd protection in it. here's hoping for someone to crack the file. the other way is to play the game in it's original version (V 1.0) without any patch.

One question : why would matrix sneakily installed one through the game patch?

Game is now 1.3 version with the new patch, I would also like to see a no-cd patch for this 1.3 version

I've been trying to make a No-CD file for v1.3 but seem to be getting nowhere, seems like a tough nut to crack this one.
Seems like alot of people are having problems with the game WITH the CD in the drive since this last patch. Maybe its a bug

From what I read in the official support forum that problem appears to be related with the SafeDisk (or whatever is called) protection program! They advise the users to put the CD in a IDE Master CD Drive.
But what I need is a No-CD crack, since I don't what to have the original CD in the drive everytime I want to start the game!
Please, can someone try to make a No-Cd crack for Squad Assault West Front (in this case for the 1.3 version)!
