Correct me if Im wrong but if I remember correctly I think the Neo2.2 is off until you turn it on by holding the reset button for a limited amount of time.
Just leave it off and play your original and you should have no probs, until your Neo burns out your laser that is. Tyler!

Burn out laser????
I had a Neo 2.2 or Starchip in my v4 for almost 2 years. I then got a Messiah 2 clone and used it for 4 months and my laser is still going strong. I now have a v7 with a Magic V. The guy who owns my old v4 plays the crap out of it and the laser is still going strong. It has almost been 3 years and that v4's laser is still going. So when is it going to burn out????? Not so sure the NEO 2.2 is a laser burner.

Yep....Tyler right. When u switch on the ps2 the neo is in sleep mode until u hit the reset button so network games should play fine if u don't reset.....And I watched my old version 4 die slowly with neo2.2 fitted an wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If u gonna open yr ps2 up an start soldering then might as well solder something decent in there...

Sorry guys, but the neo2.2 is activated at power up, it doesnt have a sleep mode. You only have to press and hold reset (for 10 sec) to load EA protected backups. CD-R backups load with a normal GS2 or AR2 swap. PSX titles load no-swap.

You sure about that Warlok? I mean it was basically the same thing as the Neo2.5/6 and I installed tons of those back in the day. I remember that if you put in a backup it wouldnt load up until you turned on the chip buy holding reset for a period of time while waiting for flashing lights to tell which mode.
Tyler!
