People have asked this lots and the jury is still out on the subject.
it depends on what you are looking for in your modchip. If you are really gonna use all the extra features that come with dms then ( multiregion, memcard features etc) then its a good buy but for most people they want a reliable chip that will boot everything they throw in the PS2 and for that purpose the Messiah2 has an unbeatable record. There r also other good no swap mods (like the apple mod) that r also very reliable at booting but rationalise it to what you want the modchip to do and how easy is it to install. I've still got a dms sat gathering dust on my shelf that spent three weeks in my version 7 before being removed in favour of M2 but hey....thats just my opinion. Not very helpful really......Regards

theres also a chip come out called ripper 2 v2 17 wire it dose ever thing the dms3 dose but its alot cheaper. its only for pal ver so far even though im not much into all the extras like what these 2 chips have i would be happy with a chip in a v9 that will boot ever game

i would go for the dms over other chips .dms even with it extras and you don't use them you might get into it in the future and the quality is better
