Messiah 2 pro just installed PS2 b/u's will not load

I just got my PS2 v7 modded with a Messiah 2 Pro. I can load PS1 b/u's,DVD movie b\u's and PS1/PS2 originals

I cannot load PS2 cd/dvd b/u's. I have an optorite dd0203 and have tried RNMAx, Nero6,Alcohol and clone cd. I have tried Ritek Y brand 4X DVD's,TDK 2X DVD's, TDK CDR's and Verbatim CDR's so I do not think it is media as the DVD Movie backups made with drive work no problem... I have made approx 10 backup's and all go to the Pls insert ps1/ps2 format disk screen. I find it hard to beleive that all of them will not even try to load...

I would like to be sure that it is not my problem b4 I take it back to the installer... any suggestions??

P.S. Anyone who lives in Ontario... I could send you the disks for you to test in a Messiah 2 Pro modded box...

Quite simply I would say the the install is bad.

I have taken it back to the installer and they advised me that if PS1 and DVD Movie backups work then there is not a problem with the install ???

I left it there and told them that quite simply... is will not load PS2 backups.... just gives the pls insert PS format disk.

What do I do if they call me and say they have found no problem???

Tell them they should have checked it before they gave it to you to be sure it booted PS2 games and sence it doesnt you would like them to take the chip out and give you your money back and get some one else to do it. But before you leave there after they take it out make them show you it still works like a unmodded console should.

PS1 backups depend only on the SCEx and BIOS wires. DVD Movie backups will play without the modchip.

So it's probably A - I that they've got wrong. Tell the installer that.

Well I just called my installer and they advised that he has it apart now and is trying to fix it.. may be a defective chip. He acknowledged that it does not work.. hopefully I will get it back b4 the weekend... it better work or I will be really pissed.

I am a little upset as I made double copies of couple games thinking that it was my problem.. I may have also accidentally (ya right) threw a couple disks at the wall causing irreversible damage....

Good luck to you Smoky as I suspect you will have a problem with your install also.... for the life of me I cannot understand why they would not test it on all platforms b4 they give it back??

FYI..
I got my PS2 back from installer today and tested and it now loads everything. He had to replace a defective Messiah chip....

One thing you may want to check when getting your Playstation 2 back is that your Dashboard loads correctly. You can tell if the install was bad and messed up the motherboard by simply letting the Dashboard load. If the balls stop spinning and form ONE BIG BALL then your system is damaged and they screwed up the install from the start and sooner or later your Playstation 2 is going to be broken.

Just a word to the wise. I dont like the Mod-Chip's if your playing DVD-R backups Flip-Top works perfect, and no it does not ruien the Playstation 2 like people think thats only if you are going to play a whole bunch of CD-R copies.

Hope everything turns out ok with your Playstation2.
