Question Backing up Ps2 games??

I hear that alcohol is the best program to use for backing up Ps2 games, and that Ritek is the best (dvd-r's) to use when backing up. I was wondering if it was possible to back-up PS2 games on Cd-r's? If so, how do i go about this and do you get the same quality game if i do so? Are there any drawbacks to backing up PS2 games on Cd-r's and can all Ps2 games be backed up on cd-r?

I have a Dvd Burner

I have a dvd burner. I just thought that it might save money to backup my ps2 games on cdr discs instead of dvdr discs. If im going to lose data then it's not really worth it.

Yeah, back in the old days. Most dvd games were fairly easily backed up onto cdr. Because a few had dummy files or other languages that werent necessary. Now there are different kinds of DVD checks, media checks, size checks, hidden but necesary files, and other types of challenges that make ripping a thing of the past.

Even now cdr are about .25 a disc to a dvd's $1.00. For .75 cents more you get the whole deal.

You can get the ripkits which basically do all the hard work for you. But like I said nowadays games are really filling out the dvd space they have.
