56K Network Adapter

Would it be possible to get the US version of the PS2 Network adapter and run it over here in the UK through a standard BT Phone line so that I can use my 56K connection on Freeserve? Would it be possible to set up my Freeserve connection on a US version of the Network Adapter and wouldn't the setup disc be NTSC? If so, would I have to switch my PS2 into NTSC mode using my Messiah modchip (using the import booting instructions). Just one last question, would my PAL games work on this adapter if I managed to import one.

OR, a better thing to do.: Does anyone know if I could get a hold of a Network adapter with a 56K port onboard over here in the UK? Thanks for any help anyone can offer - I know it's complicated. Thanks a lot SCEE

OK, so looking at the facts, it doesn't look possible apart from messing around with crap like Ethernet cards etc... But then I did come across an article which said the following modems will work...

Will these 56K modems work well? Which is the cheapest in the Uk and overall, how do you set these things up to go online with PS2 and finally, will it not be detected with the DCAS (Or whatever) online protection thingy???

I didn't use those USB modems but when you run an online game connection set up, they show all communication device that you've connected to your ps2 because I have US network adaptor and they show both modem and ethernet devices, I think when you use a USB modem, it will be available in that communication device list then you can choose it and set up your connection with it.

About your first post, I have a pal console chipped with messiah 1 and I use US network adaptor with it.
you need your dialup number and user name and password for connecting to any ISP. I'm not in UK so I don't know what's the requirment for connecting to Freeserve.

Start up disk is NTSC, so your TV should be NTSC compatible, although you don't need this disk because network connection wizard is available in online games.

your Pal games will work with US adaptor because this adaptor is only a communication device, nothing more.

About DNAS thing, I have 3 online games ( midnight club II, socom, automodellista) and unfortunately these games only support broadband connection so I fooled them by connecting my ps2 through ethernet port to my PC then I used my PC modem and got access to chat room thing on the server and never get banned. also I used my backups and never get banned
