doom DC???????

i d/led the doom dc game off of the games section, but i can't get it to play on my DC! does anyone else have this problem, or maybe know why it won't run with or without utopia boot disk?
it comes in a disk juggler image file, but when i open it with isobuster, it only contains 1ST_READ.bin, DOOM.elf, DOOM1.wad, and IP.bin.......is it missing something?
thank you in advance for all of your help....keep dreamcast alive!

You should go to

http://homebrew.dcemulation.com

and download NXDoom. The graphics suck but at least it plays mods and music.

About Doom: First I searched for the real WAD's. Doom1.wad u have is the SHAREWARE version with 1 episode. U can find the real wad's by searching the doom full games on the better filesharing progs, they aren't big (20mb or smt). They are in the corresponding doom folder after installing, just copy paste or cut them.

doomu.wad = ult doom
Doom.wad = doom 1
Doom2.wad = doom2
doomf.wad = final doom
doom1.wad = shareware

Then after i got it what i did was going to DCemulation.com and then get nesterdc jimnesboot.bat there, i was quite desperate and a newbie :P I used the bat with the doom files instead of NES files.

When unrarring jimnesboot you automaticly get the right directories en folders so u don't have to do squat. I putted doom's ip.bin and 1st read into \NESDC\ directory (not in a folder) along with all the .wads and the .elf. Thats it. I ran the .bat and it auto made a selfboot .cdi which, against my expectations, worked perfect on the DC! I even kinda did this with quake1.

wow...you made that too hard for yourself!
i ended up going here http://homebrew.dcemulation.com/dreamcastdoom.htm
and grabbing the .sbi version of doom. you can learn all about .sbi's for www.sbiffy.com . i ran the .sbi and then went into the inducer directory and put in the .wad files. after that i used the inducer to make an image disk.....VOILA!!! it worked!

but i do have a question about quake.......what files do i need to run it? quake doesn't have any .wad files, in fact all i saw were .dll files.
thanks again for the feedback guys!

I have a working copy of the Dreamcast Freeware doom. I will trade for something else if you can't find it or get it to work. Legal cuz its free, I'll just trade ya for the cd email me at leftyfish**********com if you are interested. Otherwise keep looking at DCemulation, someone might have a mirror download?

go to http://www.dcemulation.com/neededtools.htm and download the QuakeDC Selfboot Kit V1. You need the Titanium Quake DC. That's the one I use and works great (sort of). Too much loading in later levels. I tried Bero's release but didn't like it.

Yea it was long ago, as i said i was still a newbie with iso's. And I've never heard about sbi

If what u mean is getting the full game for quake u need the quake binaries zipfile from DCemulation and then search urself for the Pak1.pak for the full game, tis about 60 mb I think. Place it where the pak0.pak is also located (0 = only ep 1). See it as .pak is for quake what .wad is for doom. Strangely I never found the file on downloaded quake full games... instead I used some search sites just to search the .pak and succeeded

Use the same codes you would for the PC version. You need a keyboard for that though.

If you're using NXDoom you just press left or right on the D-Pad. But if you use Doom DC then you do need a keyboard
