Network Adapter - Fan Speed and other issues

There is another older thread on the subject of fan speed. See

http://www.fileforums.com/showthread...hlight=network

However I'd like to raise the subject again as I think there might be other issues.

Fitting the UK network adaptor to a PAL V5 PS2 everything connected OK however I noticed that the fan speed varies whilst the game is loading and also that the operation of the buttons (power/reset) is different to what they used to be. See above thread for more detail.

Additionally I have a 32 MB smart media based memory adaptor (purchased from Lik Sang)which allows game saves as long as you plug in a $ony 8MB card for a short time into the flash card adaptor to allow it to boot. You can then put the 8MB card into the other memory card slot and copy game saves from one to the other

HOWEVER since installing the network adaptor the PS2 only recognises the flash card adaptor for a short period - its as though an extension to the PS2 bios has been loaded by having the Network adaptor fitted - anyone else with similar experiences.

My ps2 fan speed changes only when I load an online game or a game that is compatible with hard disk like FFX international.
and when this happens operation of power/reset button also becomes different.
I don't have smart media memory adaptor, so I know nothing about this problem
