No sound with ALL Age of Empires Cracks

I want to use the cracks for Age of Empires Rise of Rome and Age of Empires II Conqueror's Expansion. With AOE ROR crack the music defaults to a different soundtrack which causes a 2-3 second pause in the gameplay between music tracks. Intolerable.

With AOE II Conqueror's Expansion I get no music at all during gameplay. The cracks work fine BUT NO MUSIC.

HOW CAN I FIX THIS?

Using Windows 2000 SP3
Asus A7N8X Deluxe with onboard sound.

Mmmmm.... I seem to remember all music in the AOE games uses cd audio. Sometimes cracks are made for 'ripped' versions, and these sometimes disable the code that starts the playing of the audio cd, even if you use the crack with an original. Maybe this could be the problem ? In any case, if you REALLY want the music, you can always use Alcohol120% to make an image of the cd and mount it, this will (if you make the image right) allow you to play from the hard disk without any crack. I used this technique for Quake I, so it definitely works. If you have any problems, let me know...

Thanks for the response. I used Clone CD 4 Virtual drive to try and solve the problem. Same results:gameplay and sound efects work but no music. Do you think Alcohol would produce different results than Clone CD4?

Well, I did it with Clonecd/daemon tools, alcohol120% probably works too. Just to make sure : without the crack you DO get the cd audio, right ?

As long as the disc is in I get audio. Without the disc, the game works fine, I get all the game sounds but no music. The Age of Empires games are the only games I have this issue with. I have no problems with other game cracks (Mafia, FIFA 2003, MOHAA, Spearhead, Max Payne etc.). I can even play Age of Mythology using a crack and I get full sound and music.

like what was said before, the cd tracks are on the cd....why exactly would you want the mui to play...if you have a slower computer or cd drive IT WILL slow down your computer...and how many times can you listen to the same music...if you are getting errors with the CD Drive reading music cd's in the drive then simply go to the Options and choose no music, you should be getting sound, such as special effects etc. which you have already said you have, so i wouldnt worry about the music, the only way is to obvioulsy use your backup cd in the drive or the original.......

One last possibility is ripping the audio tracks to mp3 and play those on repeat with Winamp while you play the game.
