Sims Deluxe with Alcohol Crash to Desktop

Made an image with Alcohol 120, and all seems to work well. Preview runs prior to game, but when it comes time to enter the game, it crashes to the desktop. Safedisc CD Check is quick with no errors. Just the crash when entering the game. Any advice? BTW, expansions when added work fine???

apparently the fault lies with sims vacation or sims holiday depending on where you live.. try reinstalling all addons apart from that, if it still doesnt work, try installing just the sims and the superstar expansion.. if that doesnt work, try changing your video drivers..

Apperantly you misunderstood. The game works with the add-ons, but won't work as a stand-alone. The old Sims worked fine, but Sims Deluxe crashes to the desktop. Video drivers? Audio? Or just a bad copy made with Alcohol? Trying to figure out which one!

Unhappy Same for Me

Except I don't even get the preview. The burn and install all went smoothly, but no joy when launching the game....sits on the splash screen for ages and then throws up an error.
Tried it on XP sp1 and Windows 2000 Sp2 (is this even supported?)...the Sysinfo test shows all pass!

Tried unistalling all DivX codecs and reinstalling direct X (now v9) without joy. I'm starting to suspect the burn as I've never used Alcohol before.
Kusaywa, when you burnt it, did you select both SafeDisc 2 and RAW DAO. I couldn't seem to choose SAFEDISC 2 with this option? Had to choose something like DAO/SUB ...
Could this be the problem?

Also I don't or never had any previous versions or expansions packs ever installed.

Any advice welcome
Alfa

Burn is the problem for me

Just mounted the alcohol image with Daemon Tools v3.33 and installed and now...everything seems to work for Deluxe. (using Safedisk emulation on Daemon).
Have to assume my problem was something to do with the Alcohol Burn then.

Ah well, next I'm gonna try the superstar addon.
Hopefully soon have fully working backup copies of my originals.
