I've got the latest x2 bios on my xecuter 2 pro and running the latest evox dashboard. I'm now wanting to back up all of my existing games to my 120gb xbox drive AND to my PC over an ethernet link using FTP. I've sucessfully done this on 8 of my games, however, the last two I'm having a problem with. I'll explain the problem and then what I have tried:
The Problem NFL 2K3 and Gauntlet: Dark Legacy are the two games giving problems. I easily backed up the two games to the 120gb drive...no problem copying them or playing them from the drive. The problem ONLY exists when transfering to my PC over the network. NFL 2K3 will copy ALL but TWO files. These files are various sizes (not the biggest file on the disc either). When I try to copy those files, it will only copy about the first 120k and then WILL not copy the rest. Similarly, Gauntlet has TWO of these files that will not xfer properly both doing the same thing. Trying again results in the SAME size being copied and then the xfer stops. I can copy these THREE files all over the xbox hard drive with no problem. Gauntlet: /LEVELS/levelG2/TEXTURES.PS2 /LEVELS/levelJ6/TEXTURES.PS2 LOGOS.CDF PORTRAIT.CDF What I've Tried I'm using flashFXP, so I thought maybe my ftp client was being goofy so I tried to copy these files with CuteFTP and Microsoft's own FTP.EXE. The same problem occured with all FTP clients. I then thought maybe that PC was acting a bit screwy, so I fired up FlashFXP on another PC running a totally different OS. Same problem again. I've tried copying these files directly from the DVD-ROM and the backed up game on the F:\ drive. I've rebooted the XBOX several times and tried xfering these files using EVOX's FTP and XBMP's Filezilla with the same problem. It *seems* like these three files are maybe protected in some way that an FTP client doesn't recognize the file size correctly..but then again, it shows the correct file size within the flashfxp window. I'm really confused on this one so I'm looking for ANY experience or suggestions for getting these three files on my PC! Thanks in advance for any advice! |

Try unticking 'Use Passive Mode', 'Downloading' (NOT PASV) and Uploading (NOT PASV) under options in the Site Manager in FlashFXP.
I can't guarantee that this might solve your problem, as it's only a suggestion. However, i had problems backing up 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', as about 3megs worth of files wouldn't copy over in the past when i attempted to back this game up But when i changed to the above settings everything was flawless. Let us know if this fixes your problem. |

Thanks for the suggestion Hans...any suggestion is a good one at this point!
I had passive mode disabled initially and just tried enabling it to see if that made a difference. Unfortunatly, it did not. I'm sitting here looking at a 300k file on the xbox and it downloads 277k of it at 500k/s and then shoots to 0 k/s...never downloading the remainder. Very strange! Any other ideas? Or has anybody backed up either of these two games sucessfully so at least I know it's on my end for sure? Dave |
