extracting patch files for tribes 2

i have downloaded all of the patches for tribes 2 and i am basically lost after this point. the instructions say to extract the the CD#####.EXE Patch from the Patch Archive to the game directory. and then execute the patch to remove the CD-#####. but i dont know how to extract it. if anyone could help me i would greatly apreciate it.
