Question: Safedisk 2.8

Hi

I have a game protected with Safedisk 2.80.010.
Is there a way to play this game with tools like
unsafedisk or betablocker?

As far as I know the new version of DAEMON Tools
is not able to emulate SD 2.80.010
so I'm lookinig for another possibility to play such a game
without a fixed exe.

thx
Penelope

re

hi

I couldnt start Fußball Manager 1.10 !!! with DAEMON Tools.
Of course my mounted copy with clone cd is not optimal (no DAO RAW copy) but DAEMON tools should anyway be able to start the game with the safedisk emulation.

But this doesnt work, so I concluded DAEMON Tools (newest version) is not able to deal with Safedisk 2.8xxx.

You can additional answer in German if possible.

thx

If you can't get Daemon Tool's emulation to work for you then try downloading Alcohol 120 >> www.alcohol-software.com << and mount the image in that.

I do not know what you have tried ... mounted image works even without emulation for sure, but it is possible that some games check the installation drive, so try to either install from Daemon Tools drive, or edit the registry ...
if you try to create a backup with a writer unable to write the so-called weak sectors correctly, you have to use Daemon Tools fast dump feature (see manual for details) so Daemon Tools knows which weak sectors are to emulate ... fast dumped backup will work with every writer!

Hi Copytrooper

Only mounted images that are copied with an CD Recorder which works proberly with clone cd can be used without emulation.

But if you copied a game whose protection you couldnt remove
you have to emulate.

And this is my situation.

The problem is that FM2003 1.10 can not find a cd (so a normal sd2 error message) when I emulate sd2 with Daemon tools and
alcohol 120.

So the necessary emulations dont seam to work.

Can you help?

Well, that is wrong, simple RAW image just works fine without emulation. I have tested it with MOHAAS (SD2.80.010) and it works fine.

As I already mentioned some games have registry settings where the install drive/path is stored - and if I remember correctly FM2003 is one of those games, so either install from virtual drive, or edit the registry.

Daemon Tools/Alcohol SD2 emulation works fine with SD2.80.010 - I tested it with a cooked copy of MOHAAS, and it worked ... so there is nothing wrong with the emulation feature.

CD-Checks!!

Hi! I may not be such a big expert, du to the fact that I'm only 14, but the problem might be that FM 2003 has aside SD 2.80.10 another copy protection: CD Checks.
Again I don't know if that'S the problem but maybe....
