Hey, I'm new to this site and i need some help. Okay, I have a playstation game which is scratched up bad, and wont play, how can i make a copy of it on a cd-r and it will work without a mod chip. If you have any info tell me all the things i need to do to get it to work.
Thanks, Dagreatone |

You sure do need some sort of help!
Do you really believe that you can make a backup of a cd too badly scratched to work and that the backup will actually work? |

Throw it in the bin - get your machine chipped (otherwise you wasting your time). Have a look round for the best software to make backups (you got here so you obviously been sniffing around). Recommended - CloneCD but you need a supported writer (I got a plextor) Check CloneCD webpage (dunno where it is - use a search engine) for a list of supported writers. Some non-listed ones will work too but you might end up making a few coasters trying. If you can't copy the game directly cos you don't have the right writer use summat else - Disc Juggler is pretty good but you will usually need a patch for the game (...again - I ain't got time to give you all the directions - look!). Finally - look after your discs better! (like I believe that's the reason you need to backup).

Hi,
Get the PSX chipped first, Around £15 should do that, Then get backup copies of games, Ususlly between £3 and £5 each. I use Nero 5 to copy and I have never had a failed PSX or DC backup. I have a Plextor and a TDK cyclone and have no probs at all. You could also use CDRWin or PSX Backup. To copy DC games use Disc Juggler. |
