Mafia probs (and i have used the search button)
Hi all that are reading my post. Its a question i no has been asked many times before and has also been answered in parts.
I have a store brought copy of mafia (ps brill game) however it was like most new games expencive so obviously id like to back up my copy.This is where the fun starts. I use clone cd v4.1 with clonyxL and have no problems backing up the game acording to clone all 3 disks are 100%. When i install i continualy get stuck on disk 2 (the install continues for a while on disk 2 and then just hangs) I have tried to copy and paste the 3 disks onto hard drive but still have probs. I dont understand why i can not install this game from my backed up disks when clone is telling me all three disks have coppied 100% Im quiet sure one of you guys out there have probarly experinced or have some ideas and hopefull solutions to my prob and id be great-full if some one would share there knowladge with me over this one..I am unable to tell you the make of my cdrw because i dont no?? (what the ? your probarly thinking but i got it from a computer fair and have no box..all it says on the front is Cd-writer//justlink//20x10x40//and it has a vent along the bottom??If anyone has any ideas on how i can find out what it is i have id also be great-full to no..One last thing is i have had no trouble backing up my other games wich many of are new ie NOLF2 + LOTR + HITMAN2 + 007 NIGHTFIRE ect ect (as you can see im a keen gamer but cant realy afford to damage my originals and theres a chace of that as ive got kids). Please help a fellow gamer and YES i have used the search button..Id of thought i would have trouble backing up all new games and not one in perticular if it was my cdrw. i dont trust clonecd, as i haven't had one successful burn using it, instead i use blindwrite which i believe is much better, and my backup works fine without any cracks. another program to try is alcohol, which is also very good, and if u know what type of protection the game has, u can select the protection from the drop down menu before burning.

Hi coffin filler,
here is the answer, you are waiting for: I had the same trouble like you !!! The reason is: This game has a quite new Version of Safedisc (i think 2.60 or 2.70). So you need a good READER !!! I have a CD-R writer and a DVD-Rom. First i read the original CD´s from my CD-R writer, but then i had the problems, that you discribed. Then i switched to my DVD (and it took me nearly 2 hours to read each original CD), but then the backup works just fine !! You have to use the correct parameters in CloneCD of course !! READ - data and audio read speed: 4x (to be sure it works) - skip corrupt sectors: automatic - intelligent search for corrupt sectors: yes (100) (i use the german version , so i dont know the exact translation, but i guess you know, what i mean) WRITE - speed: 4x (to be sure again) - close last session Then you will be able to install the game. But, it depends on your CD-R writer, you will need a nocd from GCW or maybe can play with the backup CDs. But I prefer a nocd, because of the noise from the drive. good luck, juergen

Thanks all for replying and i will try again with the settings you specified juergen. (i cant remember what i used last time but normaly clonyxl gets it perfect as it scans the disk and then alters the settings due to what protection is on the disks.. Im going to have 1 more go with clonecd and then i will try blindwrite as sugested
