Red face weird prob bout splitting

Hi,i have a sort of funny but frustrating prob with splitting a main movie to 2 dvdrs

When i just bought my pioneer a04 i wanted to try backup LOTR.So i decrypted the movie files with DVDDecrypter and splitted the main movie files with IfoEdit. After that i put the video_ts.XX.XX files in the 2 folders and of course i added the menu vob file. After burning them on That's Write dvdrs both of the discs worked like charm. So,u might wonder, whats the prob then?

Well, now hear this. After the succes with LOTR i decided to back up O Brother Where Art Thou.I did excact the same as described above, but the discs just wont play on my standalone dvd player(philips dvd 761).But when i write them to an dvdrw(pioneer brand) the disc do play.Dont need to see that the Thats Write dvdrs are unsupported, coz LOTR do plays.

The same thing happened with The Gladiotor.Funny thing is,when i write a dvdr with a movie that fits on 1 dvdr, everything is fine.

Now have i thought the following;after the succes with LOTR i have applied the firmware update from pioneer. So that might be the prob but i am not sure.

If any1 has a clue, please share with me.

Thanks in advance anyway
