WarCraft III Error Message

I have a burned copy of WarCraft III. I installed the patch 1.01 and placed the war3.exe file into the directory of the game (like the instructions from the GCW site said so). I don't get the "Check for CD..." message anymore. Instead, I get a message saying this:

"WarCraft III was unable to initialize DirectX. Please Ensure that you have DirectX 8.1 or newer installed and that your display drivers are current. DirectX may be found on your WarCraft III install CD under Options."

The thing is, though, I already installed the DirectX 8.1 at the beginning and I still am getting this message.

How do i fix this?

Well, I think I have the correct Video Cards in because I still am able to view the previews in the opening menu of WarCraft III.

Could there be anything else?
