SimonBradley (Premium Member) asked that question last month at an earlier stage in his quest than you and I gave the following answer uprated for the recently moved goalposts to accommodate Simon):

There are three ways of becoming a PM:

1 You can post 55 useful and informative items and ask sensible questions
having diligently searched the forum before bothering (busy Premium Members!)

2 You can know Jack Sh*t and post 55 dumb questions especially not having
diligently searched the forum first

3 You can know Jack Sh*t and post 55 dumb answers

or a combination of 2 & 3.

We all look forward to your contribution.

BOT is on a distinguished road
If you fall into answers 2 or 3 then it is highly unlikely that you will last long enough before being banned.

Good Luck in the PM quest.
All you need to do is ask questions when you need help and give help whenever you can and you'll soon make the target.
I think that it is 50 as on my screen when I posted my 50th it said Premium Member.
The moderators did mess me about though, deleting some of my posts etc.
Being a Premium Member has no benefits whatsoever, the only difference is that instead of saying Normal member it says Premium member.

Keep up the good work

Sim PM

Actually I find that being a Premium Member does have advantages. As more trust is placed on such members by others needing help, it becomes more necessary to be sure of one's ground. So this leads to additional research and interaction between PMs to share experiences or to check facts up behind the scenes without making an ass of oneself in public. Actually, SimonBradley (Premium Member) did just that; now he's a DVD Ripping whizzo. No harm in being motivated to become a Premium Member if the above spirit is part of your drive. Also you get to handle other people's games that they can't get working - wonderful privilege!

I don't know answering these type of questions also gets you to Premium members status. LOL

So let me get this straight.

You have to post over 55 messages (is that including replies).

so its sort of like an upgrading.

cool

Yep - just add value 50 or more times, don't upset BOT-CK and you'll get there (unless they move the goalposts).
