DDR 5th Mix - After Patch Problems

Scenario:

PS1 with modchip (from about 3 years ago)

I've never had problems playing patched -burned- games until I tried ddr 5th Mix. My friend has the import original and provided the .img files to me via CloneCD. After burning it the first time I found out it had modchip protection. So I went to megagames.com for the patch. After applying the patch the game ran.

Then I tried to access some of the features on the starting menu. The only things that work are Arcade and Diet modes. All of the other options switch to a 'Now Loading ' screen and just sit there doing nothing.

I thought this was pretty wierd and wanted to know if anyone else out there has backed up/patched/played ddr 5th mix or has had this same problem. Thx

Also I'd like to encourage the patchers to come out with patches for 4th mix and best hits.

Thx
vt

edit:
I'd also like to ask, with a modchip can I use the importplayer boot disc with ddr 4th mix import? Or will i need codes and another boot disc?

It does the eXact same thing for me on my KonamiX ISO and my friends REAL STORE BOUGHT import copy of 4th MIX.

It's something that happens with all DDR games, and there is no fiX. I don't have a MOD chip, I use the spring/swap trick so maybe it might work with a real MOD chip installed, but when it doesn't work with a real copy, it's the game, not the backup.

I have 5th mix and it runs fine with me. I used CloneCD for 5th and 3rd. But every other mix was in bin format and they never work, which is why my Konamix Kalisto version won't work.

I had someone clonecd my 5th mix, but I guess if it works for some people and not others it has to be the burn.

well i see that you are tring to patch the game using clone cd why dont you use cdrwin the patches were made for its bin file. my buddy hade the same problem with dino crisis when he tried to patch it with clone cd. so i told him to try cdrwin and he got a flawless copy.

good idea. Think its possible for me to burn the clonecd copy, then use cdrwin to get the .bin .cue / patch / and reburn with nero?

or will I have to cdrwin the original?

not sure, just make a copy with clonecd and then use cdrwin to make a image of the copy and then patch it. then burn it back with cdrwin. you will probley end up with the same problem if you try to burn with nero

nero burns .bin .cue like cdrwin does. I've never had any problems with nero burning, but I have had problems with cdrwin burning blank cds with no data... kinda wierd

Question burning patched psx games with Nero

Has anyone used Nero to read/apply patch with PPF-O-Matic(to defeat mod-chip protection)/and burn psx games. I am operating a PSone with Stealth Mod-Chip installed. I'am having great success with Nero and LG burner. But Spyro-Year of the Dragon backup identifies mod-chip and terminates game. Is it possible to use Nero instead of CDRWIN to burn patched games? If so,could someone share the method.
Thanks,
randyd
