Send a message via ICQ to Phase77
Have you installed the newest patch?
if not do it ,get the newest crack and then you must also copy 2 files from cd to Diablo dir.
d2music.mpq & d2video.mpq or something like that.and the cracked exe of course

i have already the patch but i failed to patch it and i don't know why.
There is a problem with the game.exe's checksum.
So,for the moment,i'm still in version 1.00 therefore i can't use the hack to play in 800*600.
I haven't start the game yet.I'm waiting for a solution to patch it.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!

I'VE MADE A SCAN OF MY WHOLE HARD DRIVE AND NOTHINGS WRONG
I'VE UNINSTALL DIABLO AND DELETE THE FOLDER AND CHECK FOR REGISTRY ENTRIES,THEN I'VE CLEAN MY REGISTRY AND MY HARD DRIVE WITH "system mechanic 3.6d" software.
I'VE MADE A DEFRAG AND THEN,TO BE SURE THERE IS NO TRACE, I' VE EXECUTED A REWRITING OF MY FREE SPACE WITH "norton wipe info"
I' VE REINSTALL DIABLO AND THEN TRY TO PATCH TO 1.01,1.03,1.08,1.09 AND IT DIDN'T WORK, STILL THE SAME MESSAGE FOR ALL
SOMEONE MAILED ME A GAME.EXE v1.04c FILE BUT DIDN'T WORK TO.
I AM RUNNING OUT OF SOLUTIONS

PS:ALL MY PATCH ARE DIRECTLY DOWNLOADED FROM THE BLIZZARD FTP SERVER

Now,every installation is made without program running in background
well, unfortunately,i tried to install it from my plextor and still the same problem.
I just checked ,i have the latest firmware.
i 've disconnected my asus and installed from my plextor then disconnected plextor and installed from asus. For the two solutions,it's still the same problem
damn, i'm going mad
ps:i'm also in relation with blizzard but, personnaly, i think that you are more efficient

I know this news is gonna suck, but you probably have a virus. I had the same problem, and after 2, hour long phone calls to tech support, they decided that I probably had a virus. So, I got a checker and sure enough, 1208 of my files were infected, including Game.exe for Diablo2.

So, here's what you should do:
go to http://www.centralcommand.com and click on products at the top of the screen. Download the trial version of AntiVirus eXpert Pro and use it to scan your entire computer (memory, boot sector, ports, the whole deal) This will tell you what virus you have (assuming you have one). Make sure that in the actions tab of AntiVirus eXpert that you click on disinfect automatically.
This should clean it all up for ya, unless you have the Win32.Cabanas.B virus, then you have to wipe the drive(s) and start from scratch.

OH... make sure you turn off the murphy protector thing that installs itself when you install AntiVirus eXpert. Murphy is a pain and has caused my system to crash several times (mostly while installing).

For whatever reason (probably to prevent hacking) the D2 executable is one of the most finiky I have every come accross. If the size is different by even a byte, it will not patch or run correctly.
I hope this helps. If you have any more questions you can reach my at [email protected], or on AIM as SwimCaptain1

Good Luck
Lans

So,today,i made a new virus scan of my whole hard drive, memory, port...with AVP PRO (instead of norton)
And still nothings wrong.
I made again another defrag.
I deleted all my "temp" directory and free the more memory possible (turning down agp aperture size to 64, just in case).
Just before installing i had around 300mo of free memory and 5.4go of free space on my partition.(17.7go free in total)
I made a new install and still the same problem:the game.exe isn't recognize by all my patch (1.01-1.03-1.08-1.09)pb with the checksum.
I tryed to patch from battlenet but it says that it can't recognize my version.
