HOW TO record a divx to SVHS video tape

i have an avi and i (divx from ripped dvd)
and want to record to video tape VHS !
because my girl friend has no pc but only
video tape reader !
THANKS because i try severals but no thing
recorded ! WHY ?
so th avi is really fine 2h30!

try and making it into a VCD first then record the movie onto the VHS.
