problem: saving old games with gb-bridge

i have a little problem....perhaps anybody of u has a solution =)

it's about the gba-flashlinker and old gb-games

...due to the FAPro256M-Card can hold only 8k-savefiles and bigger i can't save savegames of the old gb-games on the card.
is it possible to patch a gb-rom that it's savefiles are bigger than 4k (8k for example)?

again...the problem is, that the game wants to write a 4kb savegame. but the lowest size the flash-cart allows is 8kb. so i need a way to make the game save 8kb-savegames. ^^

or is there another way to solve this prob? ...is anybody out there using the gba-flashcart (256Mbit) with the GB-Bridge?
