I've installed converted StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (conversion and installer based on yener90 script http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=94783) on Windows XP SP3, but when I tried to uninstall it, the following error showed up...
Code:
(Runtime error at 787, 6855) (Access Violation at address in module 4EBF95CE GDIplus.dll: Read of address 001B06A6) I've read a few posts among the all conversions and some people had the same problem, but they didn't presented any solution. Does anybody know where is the problem or how to avoid it? Thank you for any suggestions or ideas. |

make sure ANY uninstall files are removed from game folder before making conversion.

pakrat2k2: There was just unins000.dat and unins000.exe and these aren't listed in data?.lst files, so I think it can not affect it.
And just to make it clear... I don't install converted game on the same machine I ran conversion before - it's completely different PC which has never seen StarCraft II before ![]() And one more note... the uninstaller seems to work properly in Windows 7. This error is a know problem of the CIU 1.0.1.2 and sometimes, CIU 1.0.1.4. Try run the Uninstall.exe as admin, if not work, just delete the main game folder and clean your registry.

damar15: It's Windows XP - there is no "Run as Admin" (no UAC), just "Run as different user" and that's useless because I am admin already
But it's good to know that it is a known problem pakrat2k2: How could these two files affect the conversion? They aren't in *.lst files for ARC compression and also aren't contained in the resulting *.cab files. And like I said - it works in Windows 7. Last edited by PenaPP; 27-08-2013 at 02:59. |

sentinelks: But kernell32.dll is definitely part of Windows installation and throws the same error
![]() BTW: Use punctuation please - it's hard for me to separate sentences without it ![]() //EDIT: And actually my Windows XP installation has 5 different versions of GdiPlus.dll

sentinelks: It seems like I offended you and I'm sorry for that, but that wasn't my intention. I really want and need help from the others (you included), but I'm becoming desperate more and more
![]() BTW: Google Translator from your text to Czech language is useless - I have to rely on my own

This error happens because of the protection, so like i said, just delete the main game folder and clean your registry.
This error was fully corrected in CIU v2. Last edited by Fabioddq; 27-08-2013 at 06:49. |

Fabioddq: That's just a workaround, not solution. I've already removed that using Revo Unistaller, but it's workaround too. I'd like to know the proper solution instead or at least the cause of this

There is no an appropriate solution.
This error is a known problem of the such versions of CIU (1.0.1.2 and sometimes 1.0.1.4). Is a bug, issue... So, happy with these solutions. Cheers. |

Fabioddq: And is there newer version of CIU which doesn't have this issue? Every bug has its cause, so I guess this one too
And if we find out what is the cause, we can deal with it
