Why dont you try blindread.It works very well with scratch CD's.When i encounter a problem like yours.
Which is every once in a blue moon i use blindread. If you do,You'll notice that it will slow down a few times.just let it be and you will have your copy. You can find it here :-www.blindread.com Hope this helps.  Fernn.......
