Question about Gameshark!

I just bought a new Gameshark it's version 3.4 i believe, but this is my question. My Gameshark doesnt plug into the back of my machine, it plugs into a memory card slot and it also came with a cd. Can I run burnt games with this or do I need one that plugs into the back of my machine? Also can someone tell me where I can upgrade the firmware for my cd-recorder. I have a smart and friendly 4424a. Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks.

this is correct. the disk that came with the GS reads the hardware cartridge and boots the ps2. you then insert your game and away you go. You will need to have the ps2 fitted with a modchip.
I was told that the gameshark is for booting US versions and the ActionReplay2 is for booting pal ps2 does anyone know if this is corect.

about your writer await further postins from others.

The Gameshark is for playstation one. I want to know if I can run copied games with this on my psone, even though it doesnt plug into the back of my machine. Unfortunately I dont have ps2 yet. If I can run copied games with this, how do I do it. Thanks for any info.
