Lockdown2000 was a scam, did nothing at all to act like a firewall would.

More than enough revelations on that scam software can be found doing a google search.

For starters -
Code:
http://www.pc-help.org/www.nwinternet.com/pchelp/lockdown/claims/firewall.htm
"Rock hard firewall"? I think not.

When Lockdown2000 was first introduced it was a tight firewall, it was sold to a rival company who you are reading about in those articles.

Again when it was first released it was very very tight. Too tight for its own good infact.

Well you still have it wrong.

If you still claim it was a firewall when originally released I suggest you read it's true history

You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink.
The scam software known as Hackerproof98 had its name changed to Lockdown 2000.
Hackerproof98, sold under the company name Byte Tight Security, was a direct copy of a freeware program originally named NetWatcherPro. A monitor for Windows file shares.
It started out as a simple freeware program which was not anything approaching a firewall.
All these variations of this freeware program were peddled by the same scam artist.
Whatever name it was sold under it was a scam, totally useless.
If you regard that as a solid firewall then good luck to you.

Wow you cant read can you.

Look at this which is perfectly legal and correct.

Developer A has software

Developer B has software.

Developer B buys Developer A software.

Developer B releases his new software (amended or whatever) as a new version to his older release.

Lockdown2000 when it first arrived was by a group of some Uni Grads who sold it on the net and the license was very cheap.

Lockdowncorp at that time (with another name) bought the rights, and it replaced Hackerproof as its more advanced "sequel" if you want to call it that.

Since Lockdowncorp bought the rights to the software, they had the rights to amend and sell as their own.

Now if you dont understand that, then good luck to you :P

Wow for someone who has been here a year longer than me, your quite the idiot.

So you have to flame me, when you have no answer to what I just said.

I said Lockdown2000 was strong, which it was when first released.

You came in and basically told me I was stupid in your own words (i.e. a flame)

I told you once apon a time Lockdown2000 was previously owned by grad students who eventually sold it to Lockdowncorp (they changed their company name when they did buy it)

Ever since then it was indeed crap.

Now you dont like the fact, that I was right about it all along before it was sold from Lockdowncorp. So you flame again.

Pretty weak, very very weak.

DABhand, Lockdown was NEVER owned by any grad students!
It was a fake when released.
The true history of the product is on the site I posted.
Your protestations do nothing to change the facts of that products history.
Original poster asked about a firewall for Vista, you mentioning how 'good' lockdown was shows a total ignorance of what was well known on the net - that is was, and still is a scam.
Any software from the lockdown site has always been and will be a scam.
Only 1 year longer than you?
Maybe with this nick I am using but let me assure you I was here when Swenske was the moderator.
