HD Loader problem

I purchased a hdd and a copy of hd loader in a bundle package however when I insert the hd loader disc I get a disc read error. All my ps2 games work flawlessly no problem boting ever so I dont think its the laser. I did notice like right in the center of the disc where the hole is thers like some kind of gluey substance on it, could that be causing the problem? I dont kno if the actual disc tries to read from that area or not.

it sounds like its a backup disc that was sold to you.. i have delt with console source and had perfect items everytime althog there prices are a bit high i recomend them.. i heard that a while ago someone was selling the pressed discs (which wont work on unmodded systems)..
get in contact with CS and tell them it wont work.. they should send out a replacement.. also.. if u know someone with a modded ps2 ask them if they will try the disc!! also check the bottom and what colour is it? does it have numbers printed close to the middel of the disc?

well I Guess its my ps2 because I Took the game over a friends house that has the slim ps2 and it worked fine. I just dont understand though none of my games give me a problem and they boot up right away with no hesitation. Also the bottom is just plain colored like a cd-r and the numbers on the inside are 04125102

Plain colored like a cd-r? What color? Blue? Green? Or Silver.. If your system isn't mod'd and you're trying to play a backup its not going to work.. I'd assume the numbers are a bad sign.. Usually the lot number of the batch used to identify where and when the cd-rs were made.

its silver and if it was a cd-r copy of the hd loader disc then it wouldnt have booted up in my friends slim ps2 as it is not modded, I just believe my ps2 wont read it for some reason although it reads all my games flawlessly
