But SF does use the discs heavily to read the topography of a disc, if a drive had problems it could be due to that and while its checking the disc the drive could give up the ghost. In a way you could say SF benchmark the discs somewhat. Again, no one company can test their protection on every possible scenario. You could have a PC with a certain piece of software which is harmless but affects SF, if the SF team knew about that piece of software then they probably would have found a fix for it during testing, but if they dont know they cant really forsee the future. Its the same with all software, no one company can test their product 100% fully. Its practically impossible. |
