ps2 hard drive questions

Hi just wondering about the hard drive for the ps2. So what can you do with it? Anybody have problems with hard drive working with modchips? Also I heard you can play mp3's through some modchips. Anybody tried this? If so can you save them to the hard drive? Thanks

I wouldn’t get too excited about Hard drives just yet. It’s probably going to take some time to get some decent homebrew apps that will support the HD. PS2 Media Player 1.5 is a decent MP3 / DIVX video player but they snuffed the project. Maybe there are some apps out there that I don’t know about but it sure seems like the PS2 Homebrew developments have lost a lot of steam lately. At any rate, I’ve expected to see more.
