The SIMS PS2 is there a patch or can it be copied with nero.

Can I copy SIMS to a disc using nero without a patch or does it need a patch for NTSC version. Copied it to hardrive using CDRWIN.

Since there are no known PS2 games to date with "protection", I'd say the chances of "needing a patch" are exactly NONE.

So does that mean any games that are non dvd based can be just copied and you don't have to patch anymore. I used to do this a few years ago, but got out of it. Now the kids are older and playing it more so back at er. Does a person need to have a mod chip or does the games work without it, or do you still have to use the gameshark2 for loading PS2 games with a modchip installed.

Thanks

OK I burned a copy using nero. When I put the disc in by itself it says insert ps2 disc. When I activate the Modchip without the gameshark (the hold reset button for 3 seconds thing) the Playstation logo come on and freezes. Will get the kids to try the Gameshark as I can't remember the steps for the Gameshark.

Sorry for all the questions, but been outta the loop for a few years.

Dude I recommend you look at the "Ultimate Info Sticky" at the top of the ps2 forums. Itll help you get "back in the loop".

Yeek! Well, what kind of chip are you using?

If it's a Neo, you need a new chip before you make your PS2 explode.

the neo is ok if u put a capacitor on it. it stops the charge of current flowing into the laser which damages it

And if you could figure out a way to get it to boot games without swapping.

well at least if someone has got a capacitor on it it will laser a helll lot longer.

this means the person whom has got the neo can get a new mod before time takes over and booom goes the ps2
