r!sc can you please help

can you please help me i am trying to backup ra2 yuri revenge cd i know it has got safedisc v2 on it and i have copyed it to a cd using clony and then clonecd and it worked. but you have to install from the real cd and then you can play with the backup. is there a way that i can copy it install with the copy and play with the copy i am new at this and would like to find out as much as pos. i would also like to made it no-cd. any help would be great

That is because your copy would appear not to be perfect. Otherwise it would behave like the original. Safedisc2 is easy read but difficult to burn to cdr.
you have two main options...

1.You can create an image of the cd on your HD using CloneCD, then mount it using daemon tools (www.daemonshome.cjb.net) own virtual cdrom. It will then run and install as if it was a real cd in a real cdrom.

2. You can install using the original, then use safedisc analyser and the correct UnSafedisc2 to unwrap the game.exe file and it should create a loader which at the very least will run from an imperfect copy.

By the way, always give details of your burner (make and model) so that a more detailed response can be given.

the cdwriter i have got is a yam 4416S running on a adaptec 2940 hope this helps

Bad news I'm afraid..
Your writer cannot handle DAO-RAW i'm sure. Yammies can usually do SAO-RAW but that isn't sufficient for safedisc2 (or safedisc1 in most cases).

This means you cannot do a perfect, runnable copy of safedisc games.

So, your options are as I posted above.
