Well for the 7800 series it actually is a hardware limitation. However it is most likely due to the fact that HDR is very new and was only in development when 7800 was released.
As for ATi's cards it is about how the HDR rendering is implented. As for Oblivion ATi can not run HDR and AA at the same time due to HDR being implented the "wrong" way for ATi's cards. It seems as if the 7900 series can handle HDR and AA in oblivion atleast.

IM not as concerned with this issue as you guys seem to be. I want a good card that ruins things and on hgiher quality really. Thank sfor the advice
