gona flash my xbox 360 soon

hey guys
i'm just getting into the 360 modding scene
i have taken my 360 apart and found it has a HITACHI-LG GDR-3120L drive

i have just bought a xbox 360 usb so i can flash this drive.

what is the most up to date firmware available for this drive. and what tools would i need to work in conjunction with the x360 usb device to enable me to flash the drive,

i know i'm a old hat around here but as far as the 360 goes i'm a complete newb.
