v7 reading cd not dvd

sup all ?? have searched to no avail (got bored tryin)
sorted out laser couple months ago eg cleaned ,and now it dont read dvd at all ??? should i adjust the pots or fork out for new laser ???
it wont even let me dump onto hd except cd !!! but i am off to get the ultimate !!! SOCOM 3 lol so need a quick fix .

oh yeah sorry its a v7 with messiah 2 and have tried all different media ,and its orig games aswell as backups !
